Wat is er voor geliefden romantischer dan met een beeldmooi zeilschip naar ’s werelds mooiste bestemmingen te zeilen.   En wat is er nog romantischer dan onderweg naar een zonnige bestemming verwend te worden als op een privéyacht en te genieten van de schuimende golven of van duizenden sterren die aan de hemel fonkelen….  Met Star Clippers wordt deze droom werkelijkheid.

Maak voetafdrukken op een Robinson Crusoe-eiland
Elke lente en herfst maken de drie Star Clippers-schepen een lange, ontspannen reis over de Atlantische Oceaan om zich naar hun zomer- of winterbestemming te begeven.   In 2017 zeilt Star Clippers voor het eerst in Indonesische wateren. De viermaster Star Clipper vaart met honderden meters wapperende zeilen tussen exotische, weelderig begroeide aanleghavens met een unieke cultuur. Het schip zal anker uitgooien bij baaien met witte stranden, wuivende palmbomen en een turquoise zee.  De verlaten eilanden van de Tobago Cays in de Grenadines zijn streng verboden voor grote schepen, maar vlot toegankelijk voor sierlijke klippers.  Wuivende palmbomen over witte zandstranden aan een turquoise zee zijn de ideale omgeving om samen schelpen te verzamelen of weg te glippen naar een nog meer verlaten stukje strand om zich helemaal alleen te voelen op dit idyllisch onbewoond eiland.

Topmomenten in Venetië
De mooiste haven ter wereld om binnen en buiten te varen, is Venetië. Arm in arm op het dek zie je het schip langzaam door het kanaal van Giudecca varen met aan weerszijden majestueuze oude paleizen en kerken. Dwaal hand in hand langs de stille kanalen van de oude stad, lunch met z’n tweeën op een terras op een schaduwrijk pleintje, laat je rondvaren in een gondel om de stad vanaf het water te bewonderen, terwijl de gondelier een serenade brengt.

Champagne en vuurwerk

Nip van een glaasje champagne op het bovendek van een prachtig zeilschip, terwijl je laat op de avond een van ’s werelds meest spectaculaire natuurverschijnselen gadeslaat: de vulkaanuitbarstingen van de Italiaanse Stromboli. Deze vulkaan, die de afgelopen 2000 jaar continu actief is geweest, spuwt ongeveer om de tien minuten een regen van vuur en lavabrokken metershoog de lucht in.

 

Geniet van La Dolce Vita

Slenter door de steegjes van Portofino, een vroeger vissersdorpje aan de noordwestkust van Italië en tegenwoordig een van de hipste – en meest romantische – steden aan de Italiaanse Riviera. Een limoncello granita in een leuk café aan het water brengt verkoeling. Langs een houten pad klim je samen naar de San Giorgio-kerk om te genieten van een adembenemend uitzicht op de stad.
